Prudent Engineering Begins Work on NYSDOT Project to Make the Susquehanna River More Accessible for Public Use

(EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y.) – Prudent has started project scoping work on the new NYS Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) project to improve pedestrian and bicycle access to the Susquehanna River through Vestal and the City of Binghamton, New York.

Under a NYSDOT statewide engineering design contract Prudent is a subconsultant to Greenman-Pederson, Inc. (GPI) tasked with the collection of traffic counts for 22 intersections and 11 roads within the project limits. Prudent also performed project corridor field verification of roadway geometrics, pavement conditions and existing roadside features such as drainage, utilities and signs. GPI will use the data Prudent collects in generating a project scoping report that lists feasible alternatives for this $1.8M project.

The scoping project investigates improvements along NYS Routes 363 and 434 from a grade separated highway to a gateway highway with full bicycle and pedestrian accommodation.
