Responsibilities of the position:
Conduct condition inspection of bridges in conformance with all NYSDOT policies and guidance.
Ability to work with minimal direction.
Prepare inspection reports that are clear and concise.
Accurately and efficiently enter inspection information into NYSDOT’s BDIS bridge inspection database system.
Competently schedule inspection teams and coordinate contractors supporting the inspection effort, such as special access equipment, WZTC, RR flagmen, etc.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in high traffic environments and around heavy equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
Minimum of seven, preferably 10, years of experience in the field with a minimum of three years Bridge design, and construction, inspection experience.
New York State PE registration or the ability to acquire same in three months or less.
Previous approval by NYSDOT, NYSTA or other agency as an Inspection Team Leader, or meet the NBIS standards to qualify as a Team Leader.
NYSDOT and /or NHI training in safety inspection of in-service bridges.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the job: carrying, erecting, and climbing ladders: working at heights from ladders and lift vehicles.
Experience with NYSDOT BDIS a plus.
Prior experience as a Team Leader of Assistant Team Leader desirable.
High level of situational awareness with a strong motivation to maintain a safe work environment at all times .

Prudent Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Management (CM) executive capable of developing and managing the CM department for the vertical building market from our East Syracuse, New York office.

Prudent Engineering is seeking to fill a Senior Project Engineer position in its Highway Design Department (Albany office, Buffalo office, Rochester office, or Syracuse office) with an experienced professional engineer who is familiar with New York State Department of Transportation and/or New York State Thruway Authority engineering and design procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and review of contract documents, feasibility studies, analysis, conceptual designs, design calculations, final design and specifications, engineering and construction cost estimates, and support permitting applications
- Identify, develop and gather required technical resources to complete project assignments
- Plan and coordinate detailed design phases amongst design staff to ensure project deliverables are met within schedule and budget
- Provide technical guidance and review of junior engineer’s and CADD Operator’s work for accuracy and completeness
- Understand and apply client design standards and requirements
Qualifications:
- BS Civil Engineering
- New York State PE or PE in other states with the ability to obtain PE in New York State
- Minimum of 10 years highway design experience developing contract documents for state Department of Transportation projects
- Proficient in MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment

Prudent is seeking Construction Inspectors for highway and bridge construction projects throughout Pennsylvania. Candidate will monitor and record daily construction activities with a focus on quality assurance, contract administration and written documentation.
Elements to be inspected or monitored may include full depth road box reconstruction, utilities, storm drainage, excavation and fills, revetments, wetlands mitigation or restoration, paving, milling or reclaimed pavement, signage, guardrails, striping, maintenance of traffic, pile driving, cofferdams, cast-in-place concrete, waterproofing, structural steel, bearings, expansion joints and other similar activities.
REQUIREMENTS
♦ Experience required in highway, bridge and rail construction inspection
♦ Certifications preferred include NETTCP (Northeast Transportation Technician Certification Program) for hot mix asphalt, soils, or concrete, ACI (American Concrete Institute) Level I and any level of NICET certifications
♦ Department of Transportation training from any state will be considered in lieu of NETTCP, ACI and NICET, subject to client approval
♦ Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as an outgoing personality
♦ Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and effective time management skills
♦ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
